Salto Ulbeek uses dedicated hardware and software technologies to obtain the best results from historic and contemporary printing techniques. All printing is carried out in-house on systems that have been developed, combined, and perfected by the company since its inception.
These techniques include high-resolution black and white and multicolor offset printing; inkjet printing; carbon and carbro printing; platinum-palladium printing; and spectral color management for both input and output. Further research is underway for a multi-pigment printing method based on the ‘glaze’ technology of the Flemish painters.
PLATINUM PALLADIUM
Practiced and perfected by Salto Ulbeek for more than two decades, platinum-palladium printing is one of the company’s specialties. Thanks to its development and combination of special historical and contemporary techniques, Salto Ulbeek platinum-palladium prints stand out for their expanded tonal range, their depth, and their uniquely luminous quality.
Platinum-palladium prints are among the most permanent objects produced by man. The platinum and palladium metals are more stable than gold, and a platinum-palladium image, properly preserved, can last thousands of years.
OFFSET
Salto Ulbeek began as an offset printing house, working with and for international publishers across the world. The company’s reputation was built on in-house developments and expertise.

High Resolution printing (10160 dpi, 600 lines screen)
Black & White (duotone, tritone, quadtone)
Color (spectral color management using up to 16 inks)
SPECTRAL COLOURS
In order to be able to print the most complex color originals Salto Ulbeek and partners have developed a new approach to color management. This approach exceeds the possibilities of existing CIELAB systems by providing more precise spectral information.
